How did you get started in the tile and marble industry?Jamey: From a young age I liked to work with my hands. At the age of 14 I began my "careers" at Burger King, then the construction adventure began with sanding driveways for a subcontractor of US Homes which then moved on to concrete work, pool marcite, long line commercial fishing, and then I landed a job as an apprentice technician for a tile company. That was the beginning of my passion for the industry.
Working from the ground up in the flooring industry, I honed my skills and turned those skills into the passion of building TTMI - Tropical Tile & Marble into the best company in the industry. It takes hard work, perseverance, a thirst for learning that never stops, as well as a solid team behind you to become the best, and we have been able to accomplish that in our 32 years in business. |
What sets you apart? Our attention to detail. We would rather do it right the first time. There is a ton of technical knowledge that gets put behind every job, "aka" work of art. Projects are well beyond a "slap and stick" installation. There are times when we are a "roofing" contractor, per se, and you must know the proper technical information to make sure it is done right.
